I drove way out to where I grew up this weekend. My childhood home still stands just outside of Altamahaw- Ossippee, NC. I couldn't drive back to the log house, but just walking the grounds, down these roads and farmlands brought it all back. I'm in the beginning stages of writing a novel based out there, so I'm stitching some of my memories back together from that magic. 🤎

I just returned from a week at @bluebird.fiddlecam

I just returned from a week at @bluebird.fiddlecamp in Blowing Rock, NC. I am still reeling and beaming from the whole experience. My father Scott Walker conceptualized this camp 24 years ago, and along with Teresja Poole, my uncle Landon Walker, my sister Jennie, the whole family of staff, students and parents have created something truly out of this world. This year I was thankful to join in as an instructor and performer, teaching blues, improvisation and songwriting. Every kid thrived and supported each other every step of the way. All I know is that we need much more of this in the world. It's all ages so come one come all, and please consider joining us next year?! I know I will be there!
